The Role of Simulation

The AuSIM process simulation package provides the process engineers with a user-friendly tool to allow for a rapid cost-effective means to evaluate and predict the likely responses to different circuit configurations and parameter changes with the main focus of maximizing the economic efficiency.

Traditionally, when designing and optimizing gold in-pulp recovery circuits (carbon-in-pulp (CIP) and carbon-in-leach (CIL)), the approach followed is to apply “rule of thumb” historical experience, intuition and empirical relationships  – with the end result – large uneconomical margins of “safety” being included.

What sets AuSIM apart from many of the other in-pulp process simulation packages is the fact that it integrates the test methods required to generate the crucial metallurgical input data together with the model itself into a single processing package.

Approach

Features & Characteristics

How it Works

  • Load laboratory experimental data and test conditions from a simple CSV (comma-separated-values) text file.

  • Directly add experimental data and test conditions to the user interface via simple mouse and keyboard operations.

  • Save simulation input parameters in a SQLITE database for easy retrieval and migration of project data.

  • Output results sheet to a formatted HTML file for distribution.

  • Validity range checking on all simulation input data.

Benefits

Understand

Enhances the engineer’s understanding of the in-pulp process and the interplay between the various parameters.

Define

Eliminates the “guess work” factor providing more definitive information to work with!

Extrapolate

Can extrapolate test data more effectively to establish the likely operating response.

Evaluate

Allows for trade-off evaluations using minimal metallurgical data to allow to the selection of the most appropriate process option and circuit design.

Save Time

Eliminates the need for exhaustive, lengthy and costly metallurgical test work programs.

Reduce Risk

Reduces the risk of gold losses should inappropriate “best guess” changes be implemented without any upfront verification.

Applications

Greenfields Project

Ideal for establishing the optimum processing philosophy and design specification for a new operation or expansion to and current one.

Existing Operations

Ideal for optimizing process conditions on a current plant, by establishing the influence and interplay of parameters and the likely effect of any proposed process changes prior to actual adjustments being made on the plant itself.

Pilot Plant Trials

Ideal for the setting of start-up conditions for continuous multi-staged pilot-scale trials.

Download Trial

AuSIM is a Microsoft Windows (TM) application for gold recovery circuit simulation. At the moment AuSIM runs on Windows 10(32/64) and Windows 7(32/64) operating systems. You can download the latest version here and contact AuSIM for a time limited trial license.

US English and Russian language versions are included in the same installation package, and will automatically be selected, depending on the locale setting of the installation computer.

download the .zip file to your local computer, unpack it and run the .msi installer.
